Step 1: Read the instructions and check the device

ActiPatch® is FDA 510(k) cleared (K192234) for over-the-counter (OTC) adjunctive treatment of musculoskeletal pain. Adjunctive means you use it alongside your usual care. It does not replace diagnosis or prescribed treatment. Read the current package insert all the way through. It has the operating steps, warnings, and details for the device you received.

Before you place it, look for a damaged loop, loose connection, or other visible problem. Check the on/off control and indicator light against the insert. ActiPatch® is self-contained. It has no app pairing, strength dial, or electrode leads. You do not need to feel tingling. Its output is nonthermal and sub-sensory.

Step 2: Position the loop over the pain area

Find the painful area and center the loop over it, using the package diagram. Back, knee, neck, and foot may each need a different way to keep it in place. Do not place it near your eyes or over an implanted electronic device. If you do not know what is causing the pain, ask a clinician. Do not try to diagnose yourself from placement steps.

Use the included tape or a wrap on the skin, or wear it over thin clothing such as a T-shirt or leggings. Avoid thick fabric between the loop and skin. Adjust clothing and straps so it sits comfortably. Follow the insert. Do not bend the loop or change its shape.

Step 3: Turn it on and choose a wear routine

Use the switch and check the indicator described in the package. Each device provides up to 720 therapy hours. Used nonstop, that is at most about 30 days. Switching it off between wears spreads the hours over more days. No one can promise how fast you will notice relief. Watch your own response, and keep any prescribed care.

Pick a routine that fits your activities and the directions. Check the loop has not moved after exercise or sleep. If you move it, switch it off and follow the insert to reattach. Thin fabric is an option when tape is a hassle. Keep the loop over the painful area and away from thick clothing.

Step 4: Keep it dry and care for your skin

ActiPatch® is made for everyday wear, including activity and sweating, with IP22-rated water protection. IP22 means it is protected from water spray less than 15 degrees from vertical. Remove it before showering, bathing, or swimming, and store it somewhere dry. Do not try to wash or recharge the electronics. If the tape irritates your skin, take it off and check the instructions or ask your healthcare professional about other ways to hold it. Do not keep wearing an uncomfortable attachment just to add hours.

The battery is built in (a CR2032) and you cannot replace it. Do not take the casing apart or share your device. Throw away used tape and wraps properly. When the hours run out, the package explains end-of-use and disposal.

When should you stop and ask for help?

Do not use ActiPatch® with a pacemaker, ICD, or another implanted electronic device. Do not use it if you are or may be pregnant. Get clinical advice for unexplained pain. Stop and get advice if pain lasts or gets worse. New weakness, fever, an injury, or other worrying symptoms need a clinician’s assessment, not more time with a wearable.

If you are unsure where to place it on a body area, read our condition guides for placement ideas. They cover pain relief only. They do not diagnose or treat the underlying condition. Our product page has pack details, FAQs, and the store purchase path.
